Gan-ya Ben-gur Akselrod began her musical education playing cello, piano and clarinet.

She is the 1st prize winner of the Hilde Zadek competition in Vienna and has performed at Theater an der Wien, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Volksoper Wien, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Théâtre du Capitole, Glyndebourne Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Ravinia Festival, Carnegie Hall, Musikverein and more. 

Since 2018 Gan-ya is also a soloist on the acclaimed "World of Hans Zimmer" International Tour.  

Gan-ya is also serving as a Professor at the Music and Arts University of the city of Vienna and at the the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
